I Do.... Choose a vintage wedding dress.

For this past Mother's Day, I made my mom a scrapbook of my brother and I. For the first time in years I was able to thoroughly look through all the old pictures from when I was very little, and some from before I was born. I realized during all this is that I LOVE my mom's wedding dress. According to her it was "a $50 white prom dress from Belk." Everything about it was perfect though. My parents were young when they got married (younger than I am now, yikes) and they were next to broke. Let's put it this way: they went to Myrtle Beach for their honeymoon.

Back to the dress. It was a basic A-line dress with lace overlay. It had 3/4 length sleeves and a V-neck. So it was probably barely worth the whole $50 that was invested... but I love it.

Here are some REAL vintage wedding dresses that I would actually wear. At least you'll know your dress is unique!

Pleated and Ruffled Gauze - c. 1945 - $5,700

Crisp Taffeta by Ted Lapidus - c. 1985 - $2,500

And now, for a non-Vintage, Vintage-style Wedding Dress...

Kenley's Wedding Dress from Project Runway

Ok I hated the majority of outfits Kenley sent down the runway. but this really was a divine dress. It screams 1950s inspiration. I would most definitely wear this (if I wanted a tea cup dress, which I don't).
